The Many Lives of Colonel Charles Young

In observance of Black History Month, Ranger Rik Penn illuminates the life of Colonel Charles Young, who served as Captain in the 9th Cavalry at the Presidio in San Francisco in 1903 and became the first African-American superintendent of a U.S. national park. Penn discusses the current nationwide petition campaign to promote Young to the rank of general posthumously.
