About Me

Merced Branch Library
Designed by Appleton and Wolfard, the library was constructed in 1957 and opened on January 24, 1958. Following a renovation, the branch reopened on May 14, 2011. The renovated branch includes a new addition at the front of the building, seismic strengthening, a designated Teen Area, a Children's Area that doubled in size, a new fireside lounge area, accessible restrooms, additional computers, increased capacity for books and other materials, and more comfortable seating.
